A Castletown man who punched a policeman in the head will be sentenced next month.
22-year-old Christopher David Lunt, from Malew Street, appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to assaulting the police officer on March 15th in the town after he was caught causing damage to two police vehicles.
Lunt targeted the Ford Fiesta and Ford Transit van which were parked outside Castletown Police Station - he was seen by a member of the public using a rock.
The court was told £1,500 pounds of damage was caused to the car and £400 to the van.
After making off from the scene Lunt swung a "haymaker" punch at the male officer who'd pursued him - soon after he was PAVA sprayed by another cop who came to assist.
Following his arrest Lunt told police "I hate you, you're all scum".
Social enquiry reports have been requested before he's sentenced on April 20th - there was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison.
